# Drawing

Engineering Drawing documents generate technical drawings for assemblies or parts, typically comprising:

  • Navigation Pane

  • Command Toolbar

  • Viewport Area

  • Drawing Scale

  1. Creating Drawings:
  • Via "New" command in part environment: Select "Drawing" to create blank document.

  • Via right-click in Document List: Choose "Generate Drawing" for active component.

  • Select sheet size & template.

  1. Generating Views:
  • Standard 3-View: Automatically generates Front/Top/Right views.

  • View Palette: Drag-drop required views into drawing sheet.

  • Model View: Select predefined model orientations.

  1. Specialty Views:
  • Section Views (Horizontal/Vertical cutting lines).

  • Auxiliary Views (Projected from reference edges).

  • Detail Views (Circular boundary for enlarged display).

  • Broken-out Views (Horizontal/Vertical break styles).

  • Scale: Use sheet scale or custom value.

  • Display Style: Shaded/Hidden Line/Wireframe.

  • Visibility: Show/Hide edges/components/bodies.

  • Orientation: Apply User-defined View via orientation command.

  • Smart Dimension: Apply linear/angular/radial dimensions.

  • Datum Symbols: Attach to view edges.

  • Centerlines: Add between edges/circular features.

  • Geometric Tolerancing: Define tolerance zones with datum references.

  • Notes: Create leaderless annotations (e.g., technical requirements).
