# Edit Component
You can create or edit features for the part in the assembly. As you edit, you can see where the new features are in the assembly
# Edit parts
Instructions for use:
Right click on the part and select Edit Part, or click Edit Part in the Assembly toolbar after selecting the part.
After clicking, automatically open the parts toolbar and close the assembly toolbar. The name of the part turns blue, the other parts become translucent, and the icon of "Edit Parts" remains in the selected mode.
Edit the part as needed, the operation is the same as in the part document.
Click 【Edit par】 again or right-click to exit. After exiting, the changes in the parts are automatically saved to the document, and you can view them by jumping to the document.
Note:
(1) When an external reference is selected for the feature, the feature cannot be edited in the parts document, only in the assembly.
(2) When the part has an external reference, the associated part will be updated automatically after the external reference is changed.
(3) The corresponding fit will also be automatically changed after editing, and if the fit element is lost, the fit will turn red.
# Edit Features
In the assembly, right-click on the component's feature or sketch, then select [Edit Feature] to directly enter part editing mode and open the Edit Features dialog box.
