# Trim Surface


Use the Surface, Plane, or Sketch as a Crop tool to crop intersecting surfaces.

Instructions for use:

Click to enter the Trim surface command, and its interface is displayed as follows.

  1. Surface/Plane:Select the face you want to crop, either a surface or a plane, or multiple.

  2. Tool:A cutting tool that completely intersects the surface to be cut, which can be a sketch, curve, surface, or datum.

Note:

  • The Crop tool must be larger than the face to be cropped and fully intersect.
  • When the Crop tool is a closed sketch, the sketch projection must intersect the part of the face to be clipped.
  1. Keep:When checked, select the polygons you want to keep.

  2. Remove:When checked, select the face you want to remove.

Note:

Removal and retention cannot exist at the same time.

Example 1: Draw a surface in a viewport, along with a sketch, and crop the surface as a tool, as shown in the following image.

Select the polygons that you want to keep, as shown in the following figure:

Example 2: Crop a surface with the Rotate Surface as a tool, as shown in the following image: (orange is the preview of the removed face).

Click the OK button to hide the cropping tool and create the effect as shown in the following figure.
