# Point
According to the picked element. The element can be a point (sketching point/vertex), line (sketching line/edge) or face (plane or non-plane). Pick up to 2 elements, and pick more than Two, the later picked will replace the second element.
Click in the toolbar to open the reference point command dialog box,and its command interface is as shown in the picture below.。
# Mode of Operation
- Arc center: Pick a circle-related element and establish a reference point at the center point of the circle where the element is located.
Note:
Circle-related elements can be sketch elements (arcs, circles, ellipses, including solid lines, reference lines), or edges (cylinders, arcs). The edges of ellipses are not supported.
- Face Center: Pick a single face and generate a reference point at the face's center of mass.
Note:
The surface can be a solid surface or a surface (excluding the reference surface), and both plane and surface types are supported; the center of mass of the surface may not be on the surface. For example, when the selected surface is a spherical surface, the point is located at the center of the sphere.
- Intersection: Select two lines to generate a reference point at the intersection.
Note:
Lines can be sketch lines (including solid lines and reference lines) or solid edges, surface edges, and space curves.
When the selected lines are two non-parallel lines, the lines can be extended in the direction of the lines, and an intersection point can be generated at the extension.
When the selected line is a line and a curve, or two curves, no extension is possible.
When the selected lines have two or more intersections, only one point is generated. This point is the point close to the mouse click position when the first line is picked.
- Project Point: Select a point and a face, and project the point to the face according to the normal direction of the selected face to generate a datum point.
Note:
The point can be a sketch point (including the endpoints of various types of sketch lines), the origin, the vertex of the solid / surface edge / space curve; the surface can be selected from the solid surface, the surface, the reference surface, and the plane or surface type is supported.
When the projection result has multiple points, generate a point closest to the selected point (when the distance is equal, it will generate a point close to the point where the mouse clicks when the selected face is selected).
When the selected surface is a reference surface/plane, the range of the surface can be extended, but the surface cannot be extended.
- On point: Select a point to generate a datum point at the position of the selected point.
Note:
Points can be sketch points (including the endpoints of various types of sketch lines), origins, and vertexes of solid / surface edges/space curves.
- Along the curve: select an edge, enter the distance/percentage, and generate corresponding point features according to the entered distance/percentage
Note:
Edges can be selected from sketch lines (including solid lines and reference lines) or solid/surface edges/space curves, and supports straight lines and curves.
